It has been a busy week, with visits to the dentist, new babies, decorating and sewing.

                                              Transition event

Alex had a table at the transition event, this went really well and lots of people were interested in hearing him speak about autism. We also spoke to a business start up adviser on Wednesday. She sent us away to work out the costs and how much Alex would have to earn to make a living. The figures were disappointing because at the moment Alex still needs support to manage the financial side, arrange appointments and needs taking to the venue to speak. We are praying about this and trusting the Lord to provide the means for Alex to be able to raise awareness of autism and at least earn the minimum wage from it.

                                    Assignment

I had to get my Open University assignment in on Wednesday of this week. It was a project where I had to carry out a discourse analysis on a written transcript. The main subject was attachment theory and I had to analyse my own thoughts and how my feelings may have affected my analysis. I found this project very difficult and it took me ages to write it. I only just finished it in time and I wasn't that happy with it. Sometimes you just have to write an assignment and submit it.

                                        Dentist

Esther had two visits to the dentist, she has needed a number of fillings recently, even though she had never needed anything doing to her teeth before. She has had a dry mouth for over a year and which can create an acid environment in the mouth. This can lead to cavities. When we saw the consultant about Esther's
health problems she gave her stomach medication because it's common for the digestive system to be affected. Esther found the first lot of fillings really hurt her on Wednesday and the   local anaesthetic didn't work well on Friday she said she could feel the drilling and it hurt. Esther has been struggling all week and she says her vision will go black for 10 seconds and she feels really dizzy. We are hoping the consultant will look into this next time we see her.

                                         Sewing

Alice is keen to make and design clothes, we bought her a lovely children's sewing machine today from Hobbycraft, it only cost £22.50. She is going to make some new cushions and curtains for the living room, she chose material that matches the new wallpaper. I'll post the finished results.

Alice sewing on my machine.

The brown material is for cushions and the green/yellow for curtains.

Decorating

Alex has been learning how to hang wallpaper today with Tim one of his mentor's, they did a really good job.

New life

This week has been a wonderful week because little Robbie was safely delivered. He was delivered at home by his dad, thankfully mum and baby are well.

This is me giving Robbie his bottle.
